Testimonials from HBS MBA's.

  1. I had a chance to attend one of Kevin's public speaking blog and I must say that it was a great learning experience. I must say that although I had a ton of public speaking experience (300+ cases after only 1 year at HBS goes a long way towards improving your public speaking skills !!) still I learned a lot of useful speaking tips ranging from pausing briefly while speaking as a tip to avoid using crutch words (words like er, um, like, uh etc) to engaging with the entire audience so that everyone in the audience feels that you are connecting directly with them. The workshop was capped by a learning exercise in which all participants got to give a 3 minute improvised speech that was recorded - and critiqued, post workshop - by Kevin !
If you ever get an invitation to attend a workshop by Kevin, do yourself a favor and take full advantage of the opportunity - you will be in for an amazing learning experience

  2. Kevin conducts an amazing public speaking workshop. He is very charismatic and makes people feel comfortable participating. The workshop I attended discussed strategies and then then included a combination of spontaneous and rehearsed speaking opportunities. Every single person that I talked to found the workshop insightful and beneficial moving forward. I would strongly, strongly recommend Kevin Ball.

  3. Kevin's workshop was by far one of the best I have attended. Rather than focusing on the "theories", the sessions centered around live exercises followed by immediate feedback, which was great as it was gave plenty of opportunities for me to practice and improve. Kevin's enthusiasm and friendly demeanor also created a fun and relaxing atmosphere throughout the whole session. Would highly, highly recommend Kevin to anyone who's looking to improve his or her public speaking skills!

  5. Kevin's workshop was definitely one of the most useful and effective opportunities I have had to develop my public speaking skills! He put in just the right balance between talking about the "science" behind it and actually practicing. The whole session was extremely interactive and gave us plenty of opportunities to try out different contexts and stretch ourselves considerably. On top of all that, Kevin's captivating personality makes the session a truly fun experience!
Whatever the confidence level and objectives regarding public speaking, I most definitely recommend Kevin! I am looking forward to the next workshop!

  7. Kevin's workshop was one of the most helpful events that I have been to all year. Everyone in the session was given the chance to practice
speaking in front of others multiple times. In so doing, we were all given immediate feedback and allowed the chance to notice the good and bad qualities of others' speeches.

I have already used many of the skills that I learned at his workshop multiple times this year and know that they will be very helpful to me going forward.

  8. I thought Kevin's workshop on public speaking was great. Rather than showing us powerpoint slides on tips for speaking, we went right into it and Kevin had us speak in front of the class within the first 10 minutes. True to form to the saying - "practice makes perfect"! I also really liked how he videotaped our speeches and emailed us with feedback - more personalized approach. Overall, great workshop, would strongly recommend Kevin's workshop.

  9. This was an extremely helpful workshop - it was very practically oriented as we had to give a lot of unprepared mini-speeches and a longer, video-taped one that we had a few minutes to think about. Kevin is a very powerful instructor and can draw on his long career in radio and the Toastmasters. I am sure I will be able to apply the lessons I learned from him during many points in my career and life. Highly recommended!

  11. I always walk up in front of a crowd with a piece of paper in my hand, even if it's literally to utter three sentences. Kevin's workshop helped me to begin to question this habit. He called it "the crutch," and after listening to him, I realized that I don't really need notes all of the time (often times I barely look at the paper.) Kevin's workshop is about building confidence and comfort as a speaker, and after the session I am feeling more of both. Highly recommend!

  12. Kevin is an incredible instructor of public speaking skills. He has mastered the art of balancing theory with practical exercises that clearly convey the key concepts needed for improvement. He is extremely engaging and attentive to individual needs, all while ensuring that the class as a whole achieves its broader objectives. I highly recommend Kevin for anyone aspiring to become a more skilled public speaker.

  13. The difference between Kevin's workshop and any other I have taken on public speaking is the emphasis on practice and real time feedback. I left feeling more confident with a new set of tools to help me both prepare and deliver. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in improving their public speaking. Kevin is also one of the nicest guys in the business!

  14. Its very difficult to be a management consultant, right after MBA. An MBA in any of the core fields like Finance or Marketing can act as a stepping stone.
